My ultimate goal is to become a valuable member of a professional eye care team which provides high-level, full-scope patient care. My preferred practice modality includes a position as an associate or employee leading to part or full ownership while expanding the practice and increasing patient services in the private practice modality or a full-time, employed position with a medical group.
I also aspire to be the best optometrist my patients have ever gone to. I want to provide high-level eyecare, with top notch patient service.
I would love to one day design an eyewear frame line. I know that is not really a job for an optometrist, but I have always been a creative person and I think I have a lot of innovative ideas and some really functional ones that I would love to be able to offer patients.
I also dream of being a published author.
I have the goal to always put my family first. A very wise man once said, "Success outside the home does not compensate for failure in the home." I believe that. While I believe that being successful in my profession is part of my role as a husband and father, I know that my interactions with my wife and children will have a far greater impact on them than my success as an optometrist.
These are just some of my goals. I am a believer in goals. I think half of accomplishment is just having the goal to do something. Afterall, how can we accomplish something we never made a goal to do in the first place? A lot of success is just holding onto those goals until they become accomplishments.
